We are looking for a PhD applicant (university assistant prae doc), who is interested in inorganic/hybrid materials, particularly Metal Organic Frameworks, as well as colloidal chemistry.
The contract duration is 3 years with a preliminary limitation of 1 year and will automatically be extended to 3 years unless the employer hands in a non-extension declaration after 12 months.
Duration of employment: 3 year/s
Extent of Employment: 30.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Synthesis of MOFs – application of external magnetic and electric fields for colloidal assembly – materials characterization – electrochemical characterization – writing scientific publications – MOF device fabrication – Participation in research, teaching and administration:
- Participation in research projects / research studies - Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations - We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12 months - Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses in the field of inorganic or physical chemistry as defined by the collective agreement - Supervision of students - Involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences, symposiums - Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
Profile:
Completion of a master’s degree in materials chemistry, particularly in Metal Organic Framework or energy materials – Experience in conducting electrochemical experiments such as cyclic voltammetry, electrocatalysis or impedance spectroscopy etc. – Good knowledge of colloidal chemistry or inorganic materials chemistry – Capability in project management Ability to work independently and collaboratively – Extraordinary interest in energy materials and their development
