The Organic Synthesis Group of Prof. Bonifazi in the Faculty of Chemistry is currently seeking a PhD student with research experience in organic synthesis chemistry.
Duration of employment: 4 year/s
Extent of Employment: 30.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Organic synthesis of Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons doped with O-atoms for applications in photocatalysis and optoelectronic devices. Supervision of students. We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement.
Profile:
A degree in Chemistry with profound knowledge and practical experience in the field of Organic Chemistry, and in particular in the synthesis of pi-conjugated aromatic derivatives as well as in the field of organic synthetic methodology. Ability to work independently. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Experience in the field of organic chemistry, in particular synthesis of luminescent chromophores and classical metal-transition cross coupling reactions. Experience on heteroatom-doped polycyclic aromatic systems, and synthetic methodology in organocatalysis, will be regarded as an added value.
