The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Faculty of Life Sciences announces a position for a university assistant (prae-doc) on the topic of NMR spectroscopy applied to drug design.
The announcement is made for four years, whereby the employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of four years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.
Duration of employment: 4 year/s
Extent of Employment: 30.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
The research project focus on elucidating the mechanism of inhibition of oncoproteins by small molecules using solution NMR spectroscopy and molecular modeling. The research project covers 3D structure determination of protein-ligand complexes, protein dynamics characterization, structure-based drug design, protein biochemistry, and other biophysical techniques.
- We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12 months. - Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement.
Participation in research, teaching and administration: - Participation in research projects / research studies - Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations - Supervision of students - Involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences, symposiums - Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
Profile:
Master degree in Life Sciences, or a related field. - Sound knowledge of NMR and Biochemistry - Experience in scientific writing/publication - Excellent command of the English language - High level of self-motivation and commitment - Ability to work in a team
