The group of Assistant Professor Chin at the Department of Physical Chemistry works in a highly interdisciplinary area comprising nanostructured clusters, metal organic frameworks, selforganization and others. It synthesizes novel (molecular) materials and characterizes their physicochemical properties.
Duration of employment: 4 year/s
Extent of Employment: 30.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will join the group of Assistant Professor Chin, Department of Physical Chemistry. They will prepare metal-organic framework based materials and develop methods for their assembly and hierarchical structuring. Further, the candidate will characterize these assemblies and study their potential applications. The successful candidate will also assist in writing of publications, and in institutional, teaching and research-associated activities. A doctoral thesis agreement has to be signed within the first 12-18 months. Furthermore, the candidate will have to teach courses independently to the extent specified in the collective agreement.
Profile:
Diploma or masters degree in chemistry, preferably in materials chemistry or equivalent qualification. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated research student who can work collaboratively with other team members.
Experience in the area of materials chemistry is preferred. Experience with teaching as well as knowledge of university procedures and structures, preliminary experience with scientific work and ideally international experience is desirable.
