The professorship is to be funded in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The professorship is offered under
the reserve that funds are granted.

|The professorship covers research and teaching in the subject area of information and communication
technologies, with a focus on emerging wireless network architectures. The appointee for the announced position is
expected to conduct international-level research towards addressing the communication needs of resilient and sustainable
smart city infrastructures of the future. Topics of particular interest in this domain include distributed cognitive architectures,
ad hoc and mesh networks, collaborative networks, network virtualization, software-defined networking (SDN),
and flexible resource provisioning and allocation in future network generations.
Teaching duties of the professorship will be associated with the Bachelors‘ and Masters‘ degree programs in Computer
Science and Computer Engineering courses at TU Berlin.
Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance
with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education, qualified achievements in
research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification and pedagogical didactic
qualifications, to be proven by a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB Website, quick as no. 144242).
The research interests and experiences of the candidate should cover a large subset of the following research areas:
- Software-defined networking
- Dynamic network resource control
- Cooperative networking and routing
- Multi-hop ad hoc networks
- Communication technologies for 5G and beyond
- Flexible use of wireless spectrum
- Network coverage and interference optimization
- Machine learning applications
The candidate is required to have excellent track record in relevant research topics in the form of prior projects and scientific
publications. The appointee is expected to have strong experience in project acquisition, international research
projects, research program formation, team leadership, and teaching. An excellent command of English is required for
both international research collaboration and teaching duties. Applicants are requested to include a research and teaching statement in their application.
