The University is highly successful in the acquisition of external funding, has received multiple awards for its teaching, and offers a service-oriented administration. The University of Potsdam, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, invites applications for the following professorship to be filled as soon as possible:

This professorship will conduct research and offer instruction in the business area of finance. Candidates are expected to have a track record of excellent research in finance in accordance with internationally recognized methodological standards, as evidenced by regular publications in recognized international and national scientific journals. Applicants shall have excellent skills in empirical research methods and profound experience in their application. A willingness to cooperate within the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences is expressly requested, as well as an active role in attracting external research funding.

An outstanding dedication to teaching is required. The professorship offers courses in the Faculty’s relevant bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Candidates must be able and willing to teach in both German and English. Active participation in academic self-government is expected.

The University of Potsdam is a member of the “Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Science” (BSE/BDPEMS, https://bdpems.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/portal/). We expect willingness to actively participate in this doctoral program. The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences has interdisciplinary and interinstitutional research facilities in the “Potsdam Center for Quantitative Research” (PCQR, https://www.uni-potsdam.de/pcqr/) and the “Center for Economic Policy Analysis” (CEPA, https://www.uni-potsdam.de/cepa/). There are plans to create another focus in the field of sustainable development.
