Your personal sphere of influence:
As a Postdoctoral University Assistant you will be part of the research team of Univ.-Prof. Tarja Knuuttila. The main research areas associated with this professorship are general philosophy of science, with focus on scientific modeling, interdisciplinarity and philosophy of engineering.
Your duties will include active participation in research, teaching and administration at the Department of Philosophy in the research area of computational philosophy of science and philosophy of computing.
Your future tasks:
The post doc to be hired is expected to actively participate in research, teaching and administration, including:
- Building up an independent research profile in the field of philosophy of science
- Participation in research projects
- Publication in internationally leading journals
- Independent teaching within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Supervision of students on philosophy of science at the Department of Philosophy.
- Participation in administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
Your academic profile:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in philosophy of science or closely related area
- Excellent dissertation
- Research competence proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
- Excellent IT skills
- Specialization in philosophy of computing/LLMs/AI
- Excellent knowledge of English (C1) and ability to teach in German
- You are a team player and have good communication skills
