The University of St.Gallen and its School of Management are inviting applications for a Full Professorship / Associate Professorship (Open Rank) in Data Management and Enterprise Systems. The triple accredited (EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA) university offers a stimulating and well-equipped research environment with a large network ranging from start-ups to multinational companies, providing excellent opportunities for research and industry collaboration. The new professorship will become part of the School of Management and strengthen the University's interdisciplinary activities at the interface of management, information systems, data science and computer science. We are seeking a colleague with internationally recognised expertise in one or more of the fields of Data Management, Enterprise Systems, Enterprise Architecture, or related areas. The ideal candidate has an internationally recognised track record of leading research in Information Systems, reflected in multiple publications in leading international journals (FT50), a strong pipeline of promising research projects, a strong international academic network, close ties with industry, and excellent teaching skills at all levels, including Executive Education. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the School's teaching portfolio in core areas of Information Systems such as Data Management. According to our claim "From insight to impact", the future colleague should convey scientific knowledge to students and have a significant impact on theory and practice. Depending on qualifications, the appointment will be made at the level of Full Professor or Associate Professor. Candidates for a Full Professorship are expected to demonstrate internationally leading scholarly achievements, sustained success in attracting competitive external research funding, academic leadership, and a broad contribution to the development of their field. The successful candidate is expected to play a key role in strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration between the School of Management and other schools, particularly the School of Computer Science. The position includes developing collaborative research initiatives, contributing to interdisciplinary teaching, strengthening partnerships with industry, attracting competitive external research funding (e.g. SNF, Innosuisse, ERC, EU or industry collaborations), and contributing actively to the academic community and the governance of the University. The University of St.Gallen is committed to promoting equal opportunities and an inclusive working culture. We explicitly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply. We offer dual-career and welcome services for newly appointed faculty (and their families). We seek to fill the position as of 1 August 2027 or by mutual agreement. For further information, please contact Professor Dr Björn Ambos, Dean of the School of Management and Chairman of the Appointment Committee (facultyposition@unisg.ch). The application should include a cover letter specifying the academic rank for which the applicant wishes to be considered, a curriculum vitae, research and teaching statements (max. one page each), a list of publications, teaching evaluations, two publications that best represent the applicant's fit to the advertised position, and contact information for two professional references whom we may contact should the applicant be shortlisted for the position. Candidates should submit their application to the President of the University of St.Gallen, Professor Dr Manuel Ammann, online via www.unisg.ch/professorships at the latest by 15 November 2026. Research talks are expected to take place on 18 January 2027.
