Professor / Associate Professor in Accounting and Control German International University (GIU)

The Faculty of Management and Economic Sciences invites applications for the following position effective September 2026. Appointments are possible also for 50% of the working time.

Professor / Associate Professor in Accounting and Control

Research is expected to address areas such as financial reporting, auditing, financial and management control systems, as well as contemporary issues such as social media reporting, audit data analytics, sustainability control and performance management, transfer pricing, environmental taxation, transparency and sustainable reporting, taxation of robots.

The appointed professor should support teaching activities by taking responsibilities of courses such as Financial Accounting & Reporting, Management Controls, Management Accounting, Auditing and Taxation. The professor will establish a research group and actively promote graduate and under-graduate research at the GIU Berlin and engage in research collaboration and joint supervision with partner universities.

Qualifications:

• PhD or doctoral degree from a recognized university
• Compliance with §100 of the Berlin Law on Higher Education
• Excellent scientific achievements related to Accounting and Control, documented by internationally recognized publications
• Track record of collaborative research as well as proven ability to attract research funding
• Excellent teaching ability and a track record of successful supervision at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
• High capacity to develop pedagogical innovations and to manage a study program
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
• Proficiency in English (oral and written)
