The Klinik für Gastroenterologie, gastrointestinale Onkologie und Endokrinologie of the University Medical Center Göttingen is looking for a new position for the earliest start date
Postdoctoral position (f/m/d)
full time, limited for 2 years with a potential extension for up to 3 years
Remuneration according to TV-L
Your tasks
Your tasks
- Standard Molecular Biology (PCR, qPCR, Western Blot, cloning and bacterial transformation, Immunohistochemistry etc.)
- Experience with cell culture experiments (3D culture systems is an advantage)
- Processing of human and murine tumor tissue samples (e.g., tumor tissue, plasma)
- Experience with animal experiments and models of metastasis is a prerequisite
- Conduct an independent research project within a collaborative team
- Present and communicate research results at national and international scientific meetings
- Supervision of students
- Documentation of experiments and results according to GLP standards
Your qualifications
Your qualifications
- You are a curious and enthusiastic scientist who can work independently but also in a team
- Strong background in Cancer Metabolism and / or Cancer Metastasis Research
- Solid knowledge of standard molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and cell biology techniques
- Licensed training to perform animal experiments (e.g. FELASA-B) is a prerequisite
- Basic bioinformatics skills and solid biostatistics is a prerequisite
- Experience with sample preparation and data analysis of metabolomics and lipidomics is an advantage
- Communicate effectively within the team, internal and external collaborators, clinicians and other scientists
- Applicants should hold a PhD in the life sciences, such as Biology, Medical Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry or a related subject
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken) are required
