The Center for Molecular Biology (ZMB) was founded in 2007, centralizing all groups of the University of Vienna working in the field of molecular biology. To promote collaborations with the life sciences departments of the Medical University of Vienna, the Max Perutz Labs were founded in 2005. To extend our team we are offering the following position: University assistant post doc (m/w/d).

Job Description:
Your activities will include: research on Meiosis in the group of Verena Jantsch https://www.maxperutzlabs.ac.at/research/research-groups/jantsch. Moreover, publishing in international journals and the attendance of scientific conferences.
Areas of responsibility: Developing and strengthening an independent research profile; Application of new methods in the field of meiosis; involvement in research projects and participation in scientific studies; Project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding; Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance; Teaching of junior group members and students due to extentions of collective bargaining agreement.
In addition, we expect the successful candidate to have: Publications in renowned subject-relevant media (peer-reviewed, depending on the professional standards); Participation in international conferences and presentation experience. Desirable qualifications are: Expertise with the model system of Caenorhabditis elegans; expertise in cell biological methods, genetics and biochemistry; Experience abroad.
Profile:
Doctoral degree in Biology. Experience in conducting research with the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. Proficient in C. elegans genetics, including genetic manipulation by CRISPR/CAS9. Knowledge of basic molecular biology technologies. Experience in cell biological techniques, including confocal and high resolution imaging. Profound knowledge of the processes crucial for gamete formation.
Capacity to work in a team; experience with teaching and University structure and procedures desirable - high command of written and oral language
