Reference No. 2020/067. The open position is the replacement for the Professorship Bioinformatics and
Information Mining. In principle, this position can be divided into two part-time positions.
The University of Konstanz has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and Excellence Strategy since 2007.
The open position is the replacement for the Professorship Bioinformatics and Information Mining held by Prof. Dr. Michael Berthold, who is on
leave during the corresponding time period. The payment will be analogous to W2 in a non-tariff employment relationship. In principle, this position
can be divided into two part-time positions.
Applicants should be internationally recognized with a research record and teaching focus on one or more of the fields Machine Learning, Data
Mining, and Artificial Intelligence. The position offers excellent potential for collaboration within the research focus on the Analysis, Exploration and
Visualization of Complex Models and Large Information Spaces of the department, as well as with the Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective
Behavior, established at the University of Konstanz in the context of the German Excellence Strategy.
Applicants are expected to be willing and qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in computer science. The teaching language
of the Department are German and English.
Minimum qualifications include a doctorate in computer science or a very closely related area, an excellent publication record, and evidence of
successful teaching experience.
