Ph.D. Candidate for a DFG-funded project (m/f/d); E13 TVÖD – job scope 75 %
The position is initially limited to a duration of 3 years. The fixed-term contract is in accordance with the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG). The individual duration of the contract depends on the previous utilization of employment periods in accordance with the WissZeitVG. The DFG-funded cooperation project (DZHW & LIfBi) “Dynamic Surveys for Dynamic Life Cycles” (DSDLC) aims to develop an innovative survey tool for the self-administered collection of life course data in online surveys and to investigate its effects in two survey experiments.
Your profile
excellent degree in a discipline relevant to surveymethodological research (e.g. Surveymethodology, Sociology, Psychology, Survey Statistics)
interest in survey-methodological research
interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in the context of the project
very good knowledge of quantitative-empirical social research methods
experience in working with quantitative microdata (episodic data is advantageous), preferably using Stata
independent and structured way of working
very good command of German and English, both written and spoken
ideally, knowledge in the field of web programming
Your tasks
As part of the DSDLC team, you will play a key role in all phases of the project. Your tasks will include:
co-development of an innovative survey tool
coordination of programming and testing of the survey tool
preparation and coordination of survey experiments at the participating institutes (LIfBi & DZHW)
participation in the tender for external web programming
processing and publication of the collected data as scientific use file (SUF)
presentation and publication of results at conferences and in international journals
