Post-Doctoral fellow (f/m/d)

The Department of Dermatology has 5 major research units funded by several million Euros annually. The main focus is on oncoimmunology and inflammation. Based on recent findings and resulting new projects, we would like to extend our research team with one postdoctoral fellow to address how immune responses silence cancer cells in in vitro and in vivo (mouse) models. One novel focus will be the interaction between the immune system and epigenetics. The data will additionally be transferred to the situation in humans. You will be integrated in our research team and will be involved in the generation and characterization of novel immunotherapies for cancer. The methods include a large spectrum of molecular and cellular assays, including flow cytometry, ELISA, and other cell-based assays. We expect enthusiastic and self-motivated scientists with strong interest in these fields. We are seeking a candidate with outstanding technical skills and a strong background in cell culture techniques, in vivo experiments and molecular biology. Knowledge and experience in epigenetics are an advantage.

Challenges and expectations:

• Planning, execution and interpretation of cell-based assays and complex in vivo experiments
• Characterization of functional activity (proliferation, cytokine, cytolysis, cell cycle)
• Maintenance of a wide range of primary and immortalized tissue culture cell lines and of mouse lines
• Performance of general laboratory tasks
• Documentation of results and their presentation
• High motivation and profound experience within the experimental field
• A completed PhD in live science and profound English skills are required
