for the research project „Corroding the social? An empirical evaluation of the relationship between unemployment and social stratification in OECD countries (CORRODE).” The CORRODE project is funded by the European Research Council and led by Professor Markus Gangl. Employment should begin by August 1, 2017, or shortly thereafter. The work contract will terminate at the end of the project on August 31, 2019. All further terms of the contract are governed by applicable German federal and state university law.
Candidates are expected to have an excellent academic background (at the Master’s or PhD level, respectively) in quantitative sociology, preferably including demonstrated expertise in the areas of social stratification and panel data analysis. Ideally, applicants should have specific research interests relating to the role of unemployment for demographic behavior (e.g., family formation, fertility, divorce). Prior exposure to international research environments and publications in peer-reviewed journals will be considered a plus in case of PhD-level candidates.
Please submit your electronic application (including your full contact details, a cover letter, a description of your research expertise and interests, and your current academic curriculum vitae) in a single pdf file to the Dean of the School of Social Sciences at dekanat.fb03-bewerbungen@soz.uni-frankfurt.de (deadline: 2017-06-27). Please be sure to mention our reference no. 22/2017 in your application. Further information on these positions may be obtained by contacting Professor Markus Gangl (mgangl@soz.uni-frankfurt.de) directly.
The University is an equal opportunity employer. Goethe University hence invites applications of qualified scholars whose candidacies will receive equal consideration irrespective of gender, ethnicity, physical handicap or other characteristics unrelated to expected performance in the advertised positions.
