With more than 10,000 students,
Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI) stands for highest standards in teaching, research and knowledge transfer. Its six faculties Design and Art, Minden Campus, Engineering and Mathematics, Social Sciences, Bielefeld School of Business and Health work in an interdisciplinary, research-based and closely linked manner. Regional and international cooperation as well as practised diversity and sustainability shape the work at the campuses in Bielefeld, Minden and Gütersloh.
Apart from developing and marketing non-invasive devices, neuroConn GmbH designs methods for clinical application in psychotherapy and neurotherapy by means of evidence-based, neuromodulatory procedures (e. g. neurostimulation and neurofeedback) with the aim of improving patients- mental health sustainably. The medical devices are also applied in prevention, diagnostics, stroke rehabilitation and in pain management.
As part of the “Career@BI- project, in cooperation with
neuroConn GmbH, the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics seeks to fill a
tandem position as
Postdoc
Rehabilitation Robotics, Biomechatronics
The project aims to promote young researchers and qualify suitable candidates for professorship at a university of applied sciences or for an executive R&D role in industry. As part of the tandem position, you will gain practical professional experience and get to know the routines at a university of applied sciences. Accompanied by your mentors from the university and the partner company, you will also add to your teaching and research experience, take part in qualification offers and thus enhance your profile for a future appointment as professor at a university of applied sciences. At the same time, you will be working on a joint research project on biosignal-driven arm and hand orthoses at the interface between fundamental and applied research, which may lead to an actual product in the future.
The employment will be 74.9 % with HSBI and 25.1 % with neuroConn GmbH, with a majority of working hours spent at one of the locations in Bielefeld or Ilmenau. By agreement and depending on project progress, flexible work-on-the-move periods will be possible. Teaching can take place in compact courses or in hybrid format with regard to the project.
