to join their interdisciplinary research team of Molecular biologists, Immunologists, Clinician scientists and Bioinformaticians under the supervision of PD Dr. rer. nat. Marc Seifert. The full-time position is initially limited to three years, with an option for a permanent position and habilitation / establishment of an independent junior-research group. The employment contract is concluded with the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
About the team
The team combines basic research on Human Immunology and Molecular Biology with Functional Precision Medicine. Our aim is the systematic application of single- and multi-cell-OMICS (Genome, Transcriptome, Proteome, Metabolome, etc.), multi-parameter immunohistology by CODEX (CO-Detection by indEXing), immune phenotyping (BCR/TCR/NK-TCR repertoire NGS), drug screening technologies and functional assays on primary cells, cell lines, and 3D culture models of human tumor samples and age-matched normal tissues. The detailed and comprehensive mapping of transforming events, pathway dependencies, tumor plasticity and specific vulnerabilities in hematologic cancers will be integrated by mathematical modelling (in collaboration with Dr. W. Huber at the EMBL, Heidelberg), and ultimately translated into the development of biology-based treatment strategies for precision medicine of blood cancer.
Your role
We are looking for a highly motivated applicant with very good English skills and a PhD degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Haemato-Oncology, or a related field. Experience in Bioinformatic evaluation, and/or systems biology is desirable. The applicant will be responsible for own research projects, but also participate in student supervision, conceptualization of research projects, grant writing and international collaboration work.
