The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Associate Professor or Full Professor
in » Electron Microscopy with research emphasis on Energy Materials «
to begin in winter semester 2020/2020.
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Chemistry. This professorship is embedded in the e-conversion cluster and should play a fundamental role in establishing a new Electron Microscopy Center at TUM.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of in situ and operando electron microscopy with a focus on material sci-ence and energy materials. The teaching load includes courses in the university's bachelor and master programs explicitly in the chemistry, physics and engineering programs with focus on structural characterizations.
We are looking for a candidate with high international reputation who has demonstrated an outstanding academic record and an internationally recognized research program. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral de-gree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude are also prerequisites. Substantial re-search experience abroad is expected. Successful candidates are expected to have experience in launching large scale projects and working with interdisciplinary groups. Furthermore, it is mandatory to show experiences in applying for external funding.
