The Center for Management (CfM) at the School of Business and Economics of the University of Münster invites applications for a
W3-Professorship in Management
to commence as soon as possible. Lifetime appointment is intended, provided the requirements under civil service law are met.
Subject of the professorship and compatibility: The professorship is anchored in the CfM, and therefore is responsible for conducting research on current topics in the areas of organisation, innovation or sustainability, as well as for training the young leaders of tomorrow. The prospective appointee must have an orientation in business administration and either organisation, innovation or sustainability. Additional expertise in corporate social responsibility or innovation management would be desirable. The prospective appointee should demonstrate connectivity within CfM and the School of Business and Economics.
Research: The candidate must have an outstanding academic record in the subject areas of the professorship, demonstrated by relevant publications in top international journals (VHB JOURQUAL 3 ranking [A+/A]), as well as experience in securing external funding. The integration into an international research network is explicitly desired. The prospective appointee should conduct theory-driven, quantitative-empirical research.
Teaching: The candidate should be committed to high quality teaching, be didactically competent and have experience with digital teaching methods. The ability and willingness to teach courses in English in the bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs are required.
Commitment: The candidate should demonstrate commitment to academic self-administration.
Transfer: The impact of the work on corporate practice should be demonstrated beyond mere guest lectures.
Prerequisites for employment: In accordance with § 36 Higher Education Act (HG NRW), candidates must hold a university degree and particular aptitude for academic work which is usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate. Furthermore, candidates should possess extensive academic experience obtained through an assistant professorship (Juniorprofessur), habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, administration or another social field in Germany or abroad.
The University of Münster strongly supports equal opportunity and diversity. We welcome all applicants regardless of sex, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion or worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. We are committed to creating family-friendly working conditions.
We actively encourage applications by women. Women with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered unless these are outweighed by reasons which necessitate the selection of another candidate.
