At the
Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Institute of Political Science, the
Chair of Political Systems and Comparative Politics
is seeking to fill a position, subject to the availability of resources, in the Horizon 2022 research network "REconfigurin EU DEMOcracy Support? Towards the sustained demos in the
EU's Eastern Neighbourhood (REDEMOS)" from
January 1, 2023 a position as a
Research Associate / Postdoc (m/w/d)
(subject to personal qualification, employees are remunerated
according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
until June 30, 2025. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis).
The aim of the Horizon Europe Project REDEMOS is to develop a new concept for democracy cooperation between the EU and the eastern neighborhood countries, which above all takes greater account of the local population and the non-governmental level. The network has a strong representation of Eastern European practitioners and researchers. The project, based at TUD, will focus on the interaction of EU promotion of democracy and the political conditions and dynamics in selected countries in Eastern Europe.
Tasks:
- Scientific research activities with the aim of developing of concepts as well as policy recommendations based on theory and empiricism
- preparation of policy papers
- publication of results and presentation at scientific conferences
- support at scientific events
- collaboration with partners of the network.
Requirements:
- very good university degree and doctorate in the field of political science or a related (sub)discipline
- profound knowledge in the field of Eastern European Studies, asevidenced by doctoral dissertation and publications
- very good command of at least one Eastern European language
- very good command of English
- a high degree of independence, commitment and team spirit.
- Knowledge of EU democracy policy desirable.
