The advertised praedoc position is associated with the chair for 'data science in astrophysics' of Prof. Oliver Hahn. Our group has privileged access to the Vienna Scientific Cluster supercomputing facility, and support for travel funds is available.
We are looking for an ambitious, independent, goal-oriented scientist with interests in the numerical modelling of the large-scale structure of the Universe and which has a background in cosmology/astrophysics. The candidate should have a strong background in computing, preferably also in the HPC context.
The topic of the proposed project is to develop new numerical tools for cosmological simulations in the precision era used for large-scale structure cosmology, galaxy formation studies, and dark matter research.
