The Max Planck Society is one of the leading research organizations on a worldwide scale. Since its establishment
in 1948, no fewer than 18 Nobel laureates have emerged from the ranks of its scientists, putting it on a par with the
best and most prestigious research institutions worldwide.
For the purpose of advising and supporting its 84 institutes and research facilities the Max Planck Society
maintains the Administrative Headquarters in Munich, where the offices of the President and the Vice Presidents
are located. The Administrative Headquarters runs the day-to-day business of the Max Planck Society and supports
the organs of the Society in preparing and implementing decisions. It also helps the Max Planck Institutes to meet
their administrative tasks. The Secretary General is in charge of the Administrative Headquarters.
Reporting directly to the Secretary General, we are now seeking a Head of Division Technology & Infrastructure
with a strong emphasis on managing large projects in the field of Research Building, Building Operation and
administrative Information Technology. Key role will be the analysis and evaluation of potentials for digitization,
automation, acceleration and increasing the efficiency of non-scientific business processes. Further, with the
responsibility and monitoring of the administrative IT, there is a need for a more standardized, transparent reporting.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Hold a university degree preferably in economic or business sciences
- 10+ years experience in leading complex organizations through change
- Experience in consulting and / or lean management
- Solid experience in process optimization and process management
- Understanding of digitalization and its challenges
- In-depth understanding of IT business systems such as SAP
- Affinity and knowledge of large infrastructure projects
- Fluency in English and German

society and the administration. This role needs a problem-solving, analytical mindset who thrives working in a
scientific environment.
Our offer:

For the performance of this function, we can offer a permanent Civil Servant-type contract of
employment with remuneration according to remuneration group B5 (federal administration).
The pension commitment is possible in principle, depending on the personal prerequisites. Your
workplace is located in the city center of Munich. Care facilities for children aged six months to
three years are available near the service building.
