The University of Stuttgart, Germany, invites applications for the
position of an Independent Cyber Valley Research Group Leader
for Autonomous Systems.
Cyber Valley is a growing center for AI research in the Stuttgart/ Tübingen
region, bringing together partners from science and industry to create a
world-leading hub for research in intelligent systems and to establish an
ecosystem for startups in this field.
Funded by the Christian Bürkert Stiftung, a Cyber Valley Research
Group in the field of Autonomous Systems will be established as a
part of the Cyber Valley initiative at the University of Stuttgart.
We are seeking for a young, highly motivated and emerging
researcher, who will take the lead in building up a new group and
a competitive research program. The ideal candidate should have
an excellent international early-career track record. The research
group is expected to engage actively with the existing research
environment, including the Cyber Valley partners and in particular
the emerging research area Autonomous Systems at the University
of Stuttgart.
Applicants from all fields of engineering and science who develop
new technologies, methodologies and concepts connected to
autonomous systems are encouraged to apply. Application areas include,
but are not limited to - manufacturing systems, -cyberphysical systems, -smart power grids, -traffic networks.
The research groups will be independent and their association with
a department or institute will be determined at the time of filling
the position so as to match the interests and needs of the selected
candidate best.
The funding of each group includes the group leader position (TV-L
E14), two additional PhD positions as well as startup and running
budgets for up to four years. The group will additionally benefit
from the infrastructure and support structures of the host institute/
department.
