The Institute of Clinical Neuroimmunology offers a position as a
PhD student (m/f) in the area "Immunopathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis" 65%
The planned project will be performed in the lab of Mr. Prof. Dr. Edgar Meinl and aims at understanding the
role of B cells in neuroinflammation with a focus on the BAFF-APRIL system. Recent publications from our lab related
to this area of research: J. Immunol. 2015, 194:542-552, Nat. Commun. 2015, 6:7333. J. Immunol. 2017, 198:3081-3088.
Reviews: Nat. Rev. Neurol. 2012, 8:613-623; Lancet Neurol. 2016, 15:317-331.
Candidates should hold a Master degree in Biology, Chemistry, Immunology or a related subject. The position could also be
filled by a highly motivated MD interested in basic research aiming to obtain a PhD.
The position will be in intensive scientific exchange with experts from the following consortia which provide funding for our
lab: SFB TR128 "multiple sclerosis", the German Clinical Competence network for multiple sclerosis, the SyNergy cluster, and Centers of Excellence in
