Postdoctoral Position at the Cluster of Excellence
“The Politics of
Inequality” (f/m/d)
(fulltime, Salary Scale E 13 TV-L)
Reference Number 2020/219. The Cluster invites applications for the postdoctoral position in its project
“Political elites and inequality: Information, heuristics and policy”. The position starts at July 1, 2021 for
two years. There is some flexibility regarding the start date. In principle, this position can be divided into
two part-time positions.
The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence
Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.
The cluster-funded project
“Political elites and inequality: Information, heuristics and policy” studies how political elites acquire and process
information about inequality and redistributive policies using survey and experimental designs. The interdisciplinary project team consists of Prof. Dr.
Christian Breunig (political science), Prof. Dr. Friedrich Breyer (Economics), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gaissmaier (Psychology), and Prof. Dr. Guido
Schwerdt (Economics). The successful applicant will be a member of the project team and contributes to its research activities. Developing an
independent research agenda within the project is highly encouraged.
Your qualifications
- PhD in political science, economics,
psychology or related area
- Interest in and experience in research on
inequality
- Advanced knowledge of survey methods
and experimental
- Ability to work constructively and
effectively as part of a research team
- Excellent English writing and
communication skills
