management, urban planning, history and philosophy.
The School of Computer Science and Communication at KTH Royal Institute of Technology invites applications for a newly
created professorship in Software Technology supported by the Wallenberg Autonomous Systems Program (WASP), a 10 year
research program funded by a 1.300 MSEK donation by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, and with additional 500
MSEK funding provided by industry and participating universities.
Software technology concerns methods, theories, and tools for the design, development, and maintenance of software systems with
good properties regarding structure and quality such as architecture, performance, testability, reliability, security, and fault tolerance.
The position involves research as well as teaching within the subject area. We are seeking a person capable of leading the development
of an industrially well-supported research group at the Department of Theoretical Computer Science. The applicant is also expected to
contribute to the development of the Schools education at all levels, undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate, as well as to engage actively with industry and society.
To be eligible to be appointed as professor, a person shall have displayed research and teaching expertise.

Of highest importance is the applicant’s scientific and technical excellence, demonstrated through a clear and innovative research
vision as well as research results, including software, and publications in conferences and journals of top quality.
Of highest importance is also a documented successful academic leadership. This can be demonstrated through leadership of research
projects and research groups, and through collaboration with and impact on industry and society, including the academic world. This
includes having knowledge about matters of diversity and equal treatment, with particular focus on gender equality.
Of importance is also the applicant’s pedagogical skills, in particular regarding responsibility for educational programs, education
and courses, as well as the main supervision of doctoral students. Of importance is also the applicant’s industrial experience.
