The School of Business and Economics at the University of Münster
(WWU), Germany, is seeking to hire a
Professor of Economics (W3 level)
with a focus on
microeconomics / industrial organization
The position will start on 1 October 2020.
The future job holder should represent the Department of Economics
in the field of microeconomics / industrial organization in research
and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with a focus on
digitization and/or information economics; other research directions in
an area of applied microeconomics are also acceptable. The professorship
is supposed to extend and complement the research and teaching
portfolio of the Center for Economic Theory. Cooperation with the other
professorships at the Center for Economic Theory is expected.
Candidates must have excellent academic credentials in the field of
the professorship with relevant publications in leading international
academic journals and should demonstrate the ability to build international
networks. Candidates should show the ability and willingness
to acquire competitive third-party funding projects and commitment to
academic teaching and self-administration. The ability and willingness
to transfer one's own research results in policy consulting or in the
media is desired. The ability and willingness to conduct English-language
courses in the bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes is
Conditions of employment are a successfully completed university
degree, pedagogical aptitude and competence in academic research,
usually attested by an excellent doctoral dissertation. Prerequisite for
the application are academic achievements made as a Juniorprofessor
(assistant professor), in a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification),
or as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university
research institute, or in a research position in business, industry,
administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
