Professorship (W1 with Tenure Track to W3) in the domain of Smart Sensors

knowledge metropolis, Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) is expanding its activities in research
and teaching. With its strategy of growth TUHH aims

As a part of its educational strategy TUHH is developing new, international degree programs for tomorrow's engineers, building on its excellent reputation for
innovation in teaching and learning for the engineering sciences. All professorships are funded by the Joint
Federal Government-Länder Tenure Track Programme
("Bund-Länder-Programm zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses").
For all positions the initial appointment will be for
three years, with the possibility of renewal for a further three years after a positive interim evaluation.
After positive evaluation in the final year, the candidate is tenured on a professorial level (W3). All
appointments are due to commence in the summer

The School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics seeks applications that establish research in fundamentals of smart sensing principles and
mechanisms at TUHH. The target group are early-career scientists having achieved a
doctoral degree of outstanding quality. Applicants are expected to have undertaken
independent research and to be skilled in teaching. They must show a strong interest in
interdisciplinary work with other engineering sciences present at TUHH and in application domains such as robotics, mechatronics or industrial automation. We particularly
welcome applications from candidates with a background in technical aspects of Smart
Sensors, including but not limited to:
Data handling and digital signal processing in smart sensors
Detection, classification, tracking, reasoning and decision making in smart sensors
Reliability, fault tolerance, and fault diagnosis for smart sensors
The successful candidate is expected to offer courses in Computer Science and related
degree programs both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
The TUHH acknowledges exceptional and

of innovative teaching methods with high
quality undergraduate (B.Sc.) and graduate
(M.Sc.) courses. The courses are in English
and German; for non-German speakers a
