Professorship (W 2) for Experimental Physics of Light-Matter Interaction (Tenure Track)
We are searching for an outstanding researcher with an international reputation in the field of light-matter interaction. The ideal candidate will contribute to our emerging research profile on elementary processes of light-driven reactions on nanoscale metals with an interdisciplinary physical-chemical perspective. A focus on ultrafast spectroscopy and on quantum penomena is preferred. In addition, connection to the research focus of the institute in the areas of functional (soft) condensed systems and statistical and biological physics is explicitly desired.
The candidate should have a strong publication record and proven experience in acquiring third-party funding. In teaching, the professor should represent experimental physics in the bachelor‘s and master‘s programs in physics and in the specialization area of light-matter interaction and quantum phenomena in English and German. Undergraduate teaching in physics is generally conducted in German. The University of Potsdam attaches great importance to the intensive supervision of students and doctoral candidates and expects corresponding commitment from the teaching staff. Participation in academic self-administration is expected.
