Professorship (W3) Medieval German Studies including Medieval Nordic Studies

The Faculty of Arts of the University of Bonn seeks to fill a Chair in
Medieval German Studies
including Medieval Nordic Studies
as of 1 March 2021.
The subject 'Medieval German Studies' is to be represented in its entire breadth
in research as well as teaching. In addition to research focuses in this area,
the ability and willingness to include topics within the Nordic sphere (literature
and culture in medieval Scandinavia, questions of cultural contact and cultural
transfer) are expected and have to be proven in suitable form.
In addition to the cooperation in the German Institute's courses of study, the
successful candidate is expected to participate in the interdisciplinary 'Bonn
Centre for Medieval Studies' (Bonner Mittelalterzentrum) and the University's
Transdisciplinary Research Areas (TRAs), as well as engage in the development
of further interdisciplinary collaborations. Participation in the Department's
strategy for internationalization is also desirable.
Necessary prerequisites for any application are a subject-specific relevant
dissertation as well as a habilitation or the equivalent thereof.
The conditions of employment are according to § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW.
