(Teaching and Research Area: Digitization in Industry

You are an
IT expert with a proven track record in production management and possess several years of practical experience in the field
of digitization in a manufacturing environment. The appointed professor’s main focus will be on imparting know-how and competencies in
the field of digitization and its interfaces to related disciplines such as informatics, management and technology. Emphasis will be put on
control systems for logistics, production and development as well as the application of IT-based assistance systems and cyber-physical systems,
while considering new digitization trends and technologies. The appointed professor is expected to hold lectures in basic subjects both in
engineering and in informatics and will actively contribute to research projects and advanced classes in particular in the applied research
master programme M.Sc. Digital Industrial Management and Engineering (DIME). Due to the research-focus of the advertised position, the
appointed candidate is expected to raise, plan, and manage third-party funded research projects. The professorship will contribute to further
positioning the field of „digitization in industry“ as a focus area of the Training and Research Centre Added Value and Logistics
Systems (WLS) of ESB Business School.
Candidates should demonstrate their
own international experience in the area of digitization in industry, either through stays abroad or
international project responsibilities. Personal involvement in scientific and practitioner networks, as well as in committee work, would be an
asset. Successful candidates can prove their research and development efforts in industry or in research institutions through adequate scientific
publications. Due to the international orientation of ESB Business School candidates are expected to be able impart international aspects of the
discipline and to hold lectures both in German and in English language.
Aptitude and readiness to take on tasks in the continuous development of the Training and Research Centre, the school and the university are expected.
These tasks require the
ability to work in teams and didactic skills.
