The Institute of Education (IfE) at the Faculty of Educational and Social
Science (FB 6) of the University of Münster wishes to appoint a
Professor (W2) of Educational Science with Specialisation in Career Orientation
at the soonest possible date. The professorship is situated at the Institute of Education (IfE) in the working group "Career Pedagogy" in the area of "School Pedagogy/Schooling and Teaching Research".
The prospective appointee will represent the area of career orientation in research and teaching and cooperate with the existing professorship of career pedagogy. The candidate should possess expertise in the field of career orientation at both vocational and non-vocational schools, as well as in a professional context. Experience with applying for and securing third-party financing is desired.
The candidate is expected to offer courses on the topic of career education to students in teaching degree programmes for vocational and non-vocational schooling, as well as educational scientific modules in the bachelor's and master's teaching degree programme for vocational college (Berufskolleg), offered in cooperation with the School of Vocational Education (IBL) at the Münster University of Applied Sciences. Additional responsibilities include participation in the further development of cross-faculty career pedagogical and general teaching degrees, as well as didactic involvement in the established teaching and learning labs. The candidate is expected to participate in the cross-disciplinary "Teacher Education Quality Offensive" (QLB) at the University of Münster, as well as in the regional career education network of higher education institutions, schools and companies (particularly with respect to work placements). Other responsibilities include supervision of students in in-school and non-school related practical phases, administering examinations and carrying out academic self-administration.
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess in accordance with § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW) an above-average university degree in educational science, a thematically relevant, outstanding dissertation, as well as additional relevant academic achievements while employed as an assistant professor (Juniorprofessur), pursuing a habilitation or working as an academic staff member at a university or non-university research institute.
