SENIOR RESEARCHER / POSTDOC - LEADING RESEARCH PROJECTS
The Department of Wireless Communications and Networks, headed by Prof. Dr. Stanczak, is conducting research in the area of wireless system design and system evaluation for 5G+ mobile communication systems. The "Signal and Information Processing" group carries out cutting edge research in signal processing and mobile communications in international research projects, e.g., with focus on (5G) network optimization, IoT, industrial wireless, and V2X.
Your tasks will include the design and development of wireless communication algorithms as well as their analytical and simulative performance evaluation.
Your tasks include the independent management of research projects, e.g. in the areas of (AI-supported) network optimization, industrial wireless, and V2X, as well as to support the acquisition of projects in these areas. Your future role also includes the design, analysis, and implementation of secure and efficient wireless communications solutions - taking into account recent research, e.g., in artificial intelligence. Furthermore, your tasks include the supervision of Bachelor and Master theses, the scientific support of PhD-students, and the authoring of scientific reports and publications.
What we expect from you
We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow who is willing to travel. You must hold an outstanding scientific degree in Electrical Engineering / Telecommunications Engineering,
Physics or Mathematics or related fields and a PhD in one of the aforementioned fields. The ideal candidate has earned a PhD on topics related to information theory, physical layer
security for communications, signal processing for communication, or optimization of communication techniques.
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and excellent communication skills
Analytical skills and very strong mathematical acumen
Strong expertise in signal processing for communications and/or mathematical optimization in wireless networks
Excellent understanding of (mobile) telecommunications
Profound experiences in one or several of the following topics are a plus: Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence or Channel Coding
Strong programming experience in Matlab or Python are a plus
German language skills are a plus
