The Department of Economics is part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics. We are a highly international and research-oriented Department. More than 30 full-time junior and senior professors together with numerous PhD students form an international community dedicated to studying all aspects of economics. Applicants must have completed a PhD in Economics before starting their employment at the University of Vienna (proposed starting date is September 2021). Expertise in macroeconomics is required. Knowledge of German is an asset but not required.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae detailing the candidate’s education, teaching expertise, list of publications, and a letter of motivation. Applicants are also required to submit a cover letter that includes a statement on why they are interested in working in the Department of Economics at the University of Vienna and up to two selected papers.
