main research directions in "Dynamics of the Solid Earth" and "Paleoclimatology",

We seek a creative individual with a willingness to collaborate across discipline
boundaries and interact with faculty and students. They are expected to complement
our existing research strengths, e.g., volcanology, petrology, geodynamics, and

The successful candidate is expected to offer courses in the broad field of structural
geology and tectonics at the BSc and MSc level, including field-based methods.
Part of the teaching can be done in English. However, we expect the candidate
to communicate in German within a reasonable amount of time. Furthermore, the
candidate is expected to participate in service roles within the institute.
Applicants must meet the general requirements according to public services law
and the Higher Education Act of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to a doctoral
degree, a first-rate research record must be proven.
